Cherington Place is a 75 bed government funded complex care facility under the auspices of the Fraser Health. The residence specializes in behaviour management issues of residents. (i.e. complex care and dementia).
Cherington Place is a tranquil residence overlooking the Fraser River and North Shore Mountains and is close to many amenities.
As a result of the building being situated on a sloping topography, residents enjoy interesting vistas overlooking the Fraser River and ground level access to courtyards and gardens. Cherington Place has a Spanish architectural influence with mature grounds. It creates an interesting focal point in the community and provides the residents and visitors with pleasant places to sit and enjoy friendly conversations and nature.
The interior offers two floors of care, each catering to different health needs. Care services including 24 hour. nursing and therapeutic programs are provided. Activities are specialized to accommodate the needs and interests of all residents.
Cherington Place will undergo extensive renovations and an addition to increase the capacity to meet higher and more Complex Care needs for residents in the community. Construction and renovations commenced in the fall of 2009
There are also plans to add Assisted Living units and Seniors’ Supportive Housing to the existing Cherington Place Care Centre resulting in a community of care in North Surrey — the first for the area.
