Cherington Place continues to undergo extensive building improvements in order to meet higher standards and to deliver more Complex Care needs for residents in the community.

Renovation commenced in the summer of 2009.

Future plans include the addition of  Assisted Living units and Seniors’ Supportive Housing to the existing Cherington Place Care Centre resulting in a campus of care in North Surrey — the first for the area.

Our new Assisted Living Plus community at Belvedere Care Centre is the perfect alternative for seniors who are mostly independent but require care and support in a safe and comfortable environment or for individuals requiring additional recovery time from hospital.

The addition of 87 new beds at Belvedere Care Centre is now complete! The new wing opened in September 2008 making available 148 beds (56 funded and 92 private pay) at Belvedere Care Centre.

The completion of this project will enhance the “Community of Care” and aging in place for residents as their health needs change.

In addition to Complex Care services, Medically Complex services are also available including Diabetic Care, Dementia Care, Palliative Care, and Discharge Supports from hospital.

Care programs are available on long-term or short-term basis and can be tailored to the needs of the resident and their family. 

There is a small homelike area of this facility where individuals experiencing short-term memory loss will be safe and participate in familiar daily activities to extend their independence and enjoyment of life.

These beds are available for private pay as presently they are not funded by Fraser Health.

Belvedere Care Centre expansion has provided Belvedere Seniors Living with the opportunity to convert the current traditional heating/cooling system to a high efficient environmentally friendly source of energy.

Approximately 36 holes were drilled 70 meters (230 feet) deep for the system under the front parking lot.

Geothermal works by transferring either heat or cooling from the ground through a compressor, to increase the indoor temperature in the winter or decrease the indoor temperature during the summer.
